Fragile Worlds: Materiality, Memory and Change
August 23 – January 24
The group exhibition “Fragile Worlds” explores the fragility of our world in its physical, psychological, and social dimensions. The invited artists open up diverse perspectives on the theme by making materiality, memory, and change visible in their works. The exhibition reveals how external and internal fragility are inextricably intertwined – and how artistic strategies translate this interconnectedness into new aesthetic experiences.
Tim Bengel, with his works in sand and gold, reflects on the beauty of transience while questioning social notions of value and permanence. Nicolas Radic addresses the fragility of human identity by colliding fragments of memory, dream, and reality. Zaria Forman, in turn, directs attention through her monumental pastel drawings to the fragile balance between humanity and nature in the face of climate change.
The exhibition demonstrates that the fragility of the world does not only signify loss but also contains a moment of insight and transformation. It invites reflection on the illusion of stability, the vulnerability of identity and the environment, as well as the opportunities inherent in change. “Fragile Worlds” is thus not only an aesthetic experience but also an impulse to approach personal and global responsibility with greater awareness.
